Not a Selfie (with a llama in rainbows)
This photo is not a selfie, a few thoughts on what makes it not so, technically and qualitatively.
[Image description, Alison, a fat white woman leading a llama down a sidewalk. The llama's hair is in its eyes. Alison is wearing red glasses, and a blue and gray dress with a chevron stripe. A few people are in the background but are indistinct.]
My friend Kate took the photo, they made decisions about when to engage the camera and which photo to make public.
I was walking and talking while the photo was taken. I knew there was a camera, but I wasn’t posing.
My mouth is open, because I was talking.
I feel incredibly lucky that I have friends who care about the community we make together to make sure there’s joy in it.
